Our nation has lost its moral compass, and we are more divided than at any time in the past half-century.
Washington does not function. The wealthiest 1% put 90% of the money into our elections, which blinds Congress to the needs of working people and the threats to the planet. The current Republican Party does not respect the rule of law. For me, silence is betrayal.
I will not accept a dime from corporations, since no one can serve two masters. The Founding Fathers feared any “faction” overcoming our checks and balances. Early patriots pledged their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor to form America. We must regain our commitment to honor and common sense to reform America. We must respect the Constitution and the Golden Rule. I’ll fight to restore the American Dream–where equal opportunity is valued as much as hard work–where no one is unseen and unheard. An America where ALL children have the right to good food, healthcare, housing, good schools, safe streets, clean air and clean water.
An America where we honor freedom by honoring diversity. An America that honors the reproductive rights of women. An America which honors the wonder and glory of God’s creation. We seek a nation at peace with its own conscience.
Corporations and the wealthy must pay their fair share of taxes, so that we can responsibly invest in our infrastructure, schools, sustainable energy and R&D, in order to create good jobs in the digital economy. We must make the minimum wage a living wage, pass Medicare for ALL, refocus our war on drugs, create common sense gun control, make childcare affordable, lead the world in sustainable energy, and restore a woman’s right to choose.
